What do your fridge error codes mean?

The fridge is certainly one of the most frequently used appliances at home and its reliability is particularly important in our day to day lives. Although Hotpoint takes great care to provide the best quality products, they may still not be completely immune to smaller faults.

Often in the event of any malfunction, it can be difficult to understand what is happening and what to do next. Fortunately, in the case of some faults Hotpoint will display the fridge error codes. Below you can find the list of error codes that may be displayed, their meaning and advice regarding next steps.

For instance, if your Hotpoint fridge displays an E4 error code, you are informed that the temperature in your fridge is incorrect and the recommendation is to organize the fridge repair by booking an engineer.

Some of the faults can be minor and you should be able to troubleshoot them yourself. As your safety is our main priority, it is crucial to remember to unplug the power source before replacing a fridge part.

E3 — Defrost sensor fault
